This book is about a little girl named Emily, who gets caught in Hurricane Katrina and is based on a true story. Emily not only recounts her own experiences in Hurricane Katrina, but also tells stories of her friends and family along the coast of Mississippi and Louisiana. Every account is based on a true story. You'll see how Emily and her friends overcome this tragic hurricane, while exploring what's left under the Mississippi sky. This story was created by imagining the vantage point of the author's oldest daughter, who was in elementary school the year of the storm. Although she was a small child when Hurricane Katrina hit, the author imagines her telling the story as an adult -about 15 years after Hurricane Katrina.
