Rising is a psychological horror story based loosely on the haunted Prince of Wales Hotel. Paranormal activity involving four ghosts, two suicides, and one murder cause Dr. Gum, dentist, aspiring author, and screenwriter, to investigate. He intends to spend the winter with his new bride, Roxy. The town of Wutherington is a romantic, remote retreat. Local maintenance/medicine man Running Deer, who is up on local Blackfoot lore, runs the Prominence of Way Hotel. In the Weeping Willow Lounge, the native tarot cards reveal a foreboding frightening fiasco ahead. Events soon take a turn for the worst, as Dr. Gum pens the prophetic horror; Roxy hones her culinary skills and crafts an identical replica of the hotel, which begins to ooze blood from every orifice.
