1930. David Ellison, with little money but lots of ambition; Wally Cram, who has plenty of money; and Red Ryan, a young Irish mechanic are bound for a school for apprentices for lighter-than-air craft. Three years later, David and Red are putting the finishing touches on the flight of the Silver Ship, a giant dirigible nearing completion in its hanger. Wally appears.
