Since 1993 Thomas Dworzak has been working on a long term project photographing the Caucasus and its people. With all the complexities of the conflicts in Chechnya, Karabakh and Abkhazia, the view Dworzak takes is both brutally direct and nostalgic.
Kavkas is a very fine hardback with a cloth cover, containing 80 duotone photos interspersed with several maps, captions and quotes from Russian 19th century romantic literature. The book is bilingual English/Russian, and the captions are also in Azeri and Georgian.
