第一原则如果只是自我绝对设定自我，那么就还是为了第三者的存在。当费希特重新将als引入第一原则，自我和非我就在本源意义上交织，谓述空间已经自行设定出来，而这一设定是严格自相关的。德国古典哲学的核心恰恰是本源有限性。

二刷。Zöller在最后一部分对纯粹意志和个别化自我意识的解释很精妙，但有一处晦暗不明，即二重性可能导致的恶性循环。他暗示了这一点（费希特本人明确提及），然后将不可思的根据放在了后期哲学。这是否符合费希特文本以及自居的知识学各版本的原则一致性尚待考察。

Zoeller的这本书对于英语费希特学界是有里程碑意义的。书里对知识学方案的整体把握是非常清晰有力的，如果要说有什么可惜，那么就是在细节的论证上仍然过多关注了耶拿早期著作，对后期作品仍然是以介绍为主。不过这本书真的非常出色，特别是Zoeller作为非母语作者的书面英语写作真的是典范级的。
