评分A rather conservative, empirical take on fin-de-siecle imperialism in the case of London. Instead of a popular, post-modern reading of the era, Schneer's research on the imperial and anti-imperial London builds on the narratives of biography, politics, and the urban environment. Chapter three on dockyards is my favorite.
