作者委婉含蓄人的文腔優美亦累贅，好像永遠迴避著什麼般迷人和累人，有種「清醒的感動」，亦即微弱。這種風格強度好像破壞了立體的角色塑造，配合稍微過份豐富的情節細部，使得本已薄弱的故事更為暗啞。另外作者似乎故意不交代不少細節，試圖把小說寓言化和普遍化，可這明明是本情節推動的小說啊，不可信的情節，感人程度也少幾分。而且作者末段的一連串自圓其說也太明顯了，很多感動位都顯得未完成及牽強。值得看的可能就只是其文體風格，以及封面，也實在值四分的。
