亨利·彼得洛斯基（Henry Petroski）素有“科技的桂冠诗人”之名，被推崇为“博学、机智、擅于深入浅出”的写作者。现任杜克大学土木工程学及历史教授，并担任土木及环境工程学系系主任。

作者彼得洛斯基是杜克大学历史教授，这本关于书架历史的书，丧失了一般此类此类历史书的趣味性，让我一个从事书店工作的人没有咖啡看不下去，里面大量的人名，史实以及专业知识，更像是一本工具书，而不像它名字，《书架的故事》。 书架的发展史也是书的的发展史，书架除了极少...

因为老板的力荐而随便买的书，搁置了几天，随意翻开便搁不下，一口气读了一半。（为啥没读完？因为我整理书架去了^^） 就好像作者说的，装着书的书架几乎是永远不会被人注意到的，我们看到的只有书而已，但是书架本身，以及书排列在书架上的方式，都有很多的学问，并非我们想象...
