Featuring a selection of the best installations realized in museums, exhibitions and other spaces, this volume provides an account of recent developments in the art of exhibition design in Italy. It shows a range of the most significant works from 1992 and seeks to draw the reader's attention to a remarkable discipline: the creative work of Franco Albini, BBPR, Carlo Scarpa and others. It focuses on a series of spaces and installations in which the innovative aspects of exhibition design are most evident, showing how a modern approach to architectural design derives from the historical tradition of adding to what has already been built.
