这本书对我的意义更多在于其论述的方式，并且帮我厘清了一些疑惑，，，跟波兰尼的大转型放在一起看更加觉得有意思。

理想主义的Habermas啊，大部分情况下辩证地梳理了资本主义社会公共领域和私人领域的转型，which is inevitable，强调critical-rational debate及其consensus，时刻提防权力机构的侵犯和公共舆论的假象。他真的希望所有人都可以做到critical，也真的相信有这样的未来？不过对high art和film的critique太操之过急，对Mill的解读太极端感觉完全忽视On Liberty第二章，对现代建筑变化对转型的影响更是不知道哪儿来的source

Well, never mind whether you agree with him or not. What is he trying to say? What is his "public sphere" anywhere? Is it a tea house or a restaurant? Is it something else? How did he qualify such a thing? How are people supposed to behave in such a thing? What is the most important quality a person needs to possess in order to perform in it?

Jürgen Habermas is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Frankfurt and Professor of Philosophy at Northwestern University. He was recently awarded the 2004 Kyoto Prize for Arts and Philosophy by the Inamori Foundation.
