高健，1929年出生于天津一个书香世家，1951年辅仁大学毕业，1956-1995年在山西大学任教。主要译作与著作有：《英美散文六十家》（1983-1984）、《近代英美散文选读》（1989）、《圣安妮斯之夜》（1988）、《美国散文选》（1989）、《英诗揽胜》（1992）、《见闻札记》（1996）、汉译毛姆小说两种（1989，1991）等。
About the Translator
Gao Jian, b.1929, graduated from Furen University in 1951. After a short period of office work, he took up teaching at Shanxi University. He is known to a wider public chiefly as a translator of belles letters and his 60 British-American Essayists has won him nationwide acclaim. To his credit are at least half a dozen Chinese translated collections of essays and poems besides two novel translations of Maugham
