作者简介

约翰·肯尼迪·图尔（John Kennedy Toole）美国著名作家。1937年生于新奥尔良。哥伦比亚大学毕业后，曾执教于西南路易斯安那亨特学院和新奥尔良多米尼加学院。十几岁时，图尔就开始长篇小说《笨蛋联盟》的创作。1980年，在母亲的努力下，《笨蛋联盟》得以出版，很快引起读者的轰动，并于次年斩获美国文学界最权威的奖项——普利策小说奖。

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. 施老师说他觉得最好的小说应该是笑中带泪的，感觉读这本小说就是放肆笑完之后是深深的沉默，悲剧往往和喜剧只有一线之隔，人生既不是悲剧也不是喜剧，而是一场悲喜剧，我想这就是波拉尼奥把它列为自己最爱的几本书之一的原因吧。第一章里那些酒馆的对话很美剧，让我想到了丧到家的《百年酒馆》。
