The Happy Prince and Other Tales (sometimes called The Happy Prince and Other Stories) is a collection of stories for children by Oscar Wilde first published in May 1888.
It contains five stories:
"The Happy Prince"
"The Nightingale and the Rose"
"The Selfish Giant"
"The Devoted Friend"
"The Remarkable Rocket".

Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde was an Irish playwright, novelist, essayist, and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s.

虽然是童话故事，但是更加适合成年人阅读。每个故事都是那么不留余地。王子是兼济天下，可是市政官员却丑陋。夜莺对爱的付出，而爱情什么都不是。巨人的故事稍稍有点温情。朋友的那个故事真是反讽至极。
评分辞藻华丽语言丰富cynical十足，这就是王尔德的风格。虽是tale，实在是不知道怎么念给小孩听。the happy prince, the devoted friend, the nightingale and the rose,听了他们会怀疑是不是不可以做好人，是不是不可以真心待朋友，是不是真爱抵不上珠宝。真真解释起来又说不清...倒是the selfish giant&the remarkable giant直接明了告诉他们不可自私，不可自命不凡。大人的童话书。
