安妮·迪拉德 Annie Dillard，作家、诗人、博物学者、语言大师。1945年出生于美国宾夕法尼亚州匹兹堡一个富裕的家庭，自幼喜好阅读，在父母影响下，从钢琴、绘画与舞蹈课，到采集岩石与昆虫，她的童年交织着无穷的创造力与对环境的探索。1968年，她以题为《瓦尔登湖 与梭罗》的论文毕业于弗吉尼亚霍林斯大学，奠定一生的写作方向。
