这么详细甚至过于繁复的回忆录让人很难一直保持耐心，却又偶尔迸出迸出一些极有共鸣的瞬间。这样的阅读体验很难得。曾经拥有一切的古巴上层社会白人孩子在革命后被迫离家来到美国，成为社会“底层”的一员而重新奋斗到美国上层。这样的经历很难不让他在面对自己和自己的原生国时也带着极度极度的liberal价值观。也许这本回忆录最大的功效反而是让我理解了那些携妻带子、一定要来到美国寻找更好生活的“无证”移民们。只是，回忆录和文学可以美好而真挚，政治与现实却要复杂得多呀。以及，作者跟康德是有多大仇，哈哈哈
