这本书可以说是一本很生动的考古学科普了。从古希腊文明的发现开始，从一串串著名考古学者开始，作者运用想象力将画面穿起来，讲述了许多美丽的画面。 我还记得书里提到，当布鲁格欺骗当地的埃及向导协助他将法老的木乃伊运到开罗时，古老的船只顺着尼罗河缓缓运行，岸上的埃及...  

以前被問起讀啥科系的，說完答案後，通常人家會問的不外乎：「以後要做啥工作？考古？」 我總是笑笑的亂答：「那是人類學系在做的(喂)。」 好吧我還真沒認識的人在做這行，大概是小弟太井底之蛙。 不過，歷史學跟考古學確實是相輔相成，沒有後者，很多史事光靠文獻根本是不足...
