上学时学到近代中国积贫积弱，会认为是西方工业革命带来了巨大进步，同时我们故步自封。读罢此书，我认为不仅仅是机械革命的力量：19世纪西方国家已经非常热衷甚至是疯狂地进行考古发掘，发掘了庞贝、特洛伊、埃及、小亚细亚、中美洲等等，参与人员有商人，学者，政客，教士，...
