ANIMAL FARM
George Orwell's classic satire of the Russian Revolution is an intimate part of our contemporary culture. The climax is the brutal betrayal of the faithful horse Boxer, when totalitarian rule is reestablished with the bloodstained postscript to the founding slogan: But some Animals Are More Equal Than Others. . . .

In 1984, London is a grim city where Big Brother is always watching you and the Thought Police can practically read your mind. Winston is a man in grave danger for the simple reason that his memory still functions. Drawn into a forbidden love affair, Winston finds the courage to join a secret revolutionary organization called The Brotherhood, dedicated to the destruction of the Party. Together with his beloved Julia, he hazards his life in a deadly match against the powers that be.
作者简介
GEORGE ORWELL (1903-1950) was born in India and served with the Imperial Police in Burma before joining the Republican Army in the Spanish Civil War. Orwell was the author of six novels as well as numerous essays and nonfiction works.

评分经典之作，一直没读，算是补读。首先是被锐利的议论和语言所震撼，毕竟Orwell，这是读之前就预料到的。但出乎意外的，是《1984》后半部弥漫的感伤。Orwell没有停留在政治制度的批判上，而是进入了人性。经过数千年的文明建立起来的理性传统和人性之爱，作为对集权的唯一抵抗，给读者以希望，但最后一败涂地。
