2019.07.13 看完《巴黎评论》开始尝试读现当代小说。一口气读完第一本Chandler，特地选择原版因而无须依赖翻译的文笔和理解可以直接阅读作者的风格which is important to a fiction。读毕感受是我依然不太喜欢过于叙事性的小说和过于情感化的侦探/悬疑/推理小说，尤其像这样侦探自己与案件有着千丝万缕联系的。读完理解了人生/人性在我心中并不是对一本侦探小说的最佳赞美，技术推理更重要。所以看到最后我一脸懵逼想这就结束了么？是我英文阅读有障碍么？以此为评判标准，福尔摩斯在我心中目前无挑战者。 BUT，Chandler的语言风格倒是很喜欢，简洁干脆，用词简单，偶尔一笔带过冷静的幽默。

看的英文版最初的情节看的我只想喝酒…… 马洛里被捕之后的画面感，影视剧里太熟悉了，毫无阅读兴趣了……

因为村上的关系，先是买了中文翻译的版本...翻译不出雷蒙德的味道，第二天立刻买了原版的，不能偷懒... 果然心满意足

Down-and-out drunk Terry Lennox has a problem: his millionaire wife is dead and he needs to get out of LA fast. So he turns to his only friend in the world: Philip Marlowe, Private Investigator.
