Those master brains had perished. They had left full directions, it is true, and their successors had each of them mastered a portion of those directions. But Humanity, in its desire for comfort, had over-reached itself. It had exploited the riches of nature too far. 真的无聊，看得好尴尬，刻意的情节和死板的人物。主要就讨论了人与人的关系和二手经验，但是没讲清楚科技为啥一定会破坏humanity。
评分一百年前的科幻小说评论别那么苛刻好吧
评分100年前的福斯特对未来人类社会的预测能力，是建立在对人性的体察，而非理工类科技幻想的基础上的。对疏离、隔离、“进步文明”的心态，拿捏得精准，不服不行。
