I can not say I didn't enjoy the reading, the writing is beautiful and delicate in any case. However, It's hard to judge whether the writer purposely or subconsciously threw a makeup on the militarism. It's like I am sorry but I don't apologize as a young man who fully devoted himself to his faith even it has been proved to be wrong in the end.

石黑一雄：一九五四年生于日本长崎，五岁时随其父前往英国定居。他迄今共出版六部长篇小说，其作品已被翻译成三十多种语言。他的每部长篇小说都曾获欧美的文学奖项，其中包括一次英国布克奖(《长日留痕》)，另加三次该奖提名。
