Tayo覺得自己是outsider。那我呢？讓留學生去分析美國少數民族融入的故事是很殘酷的。Suddenly everyone has two names.Tayo不願殺日本兵，因為覺得和他自己長得很像。那我呢？我和日本同學一組討論這本書的時候覺得民族的故事，曆史都壓在身上。中國人和日本人長得更像呢，區區幾十年，我們坐在教室裏一起用英文研究你美國的民族問題呢。我理解不瞭Tayo其實，他的某些痛苦，我也韆倍百倍的經受過。然而諷刺的很，就像一個殘疾人在安慰一個破瞭手指的人。
