评分Vulgar but the author gave very good afterword to justify his purpose. Indeed, it's one aspect of the American life at that time.
评分作者文采超好，也因此读起来好费劲。刚开始的旅程非常引人入胜，但是后面突然就感觉无聊至极，弃。主人公十分不讨喜
评分今年看的第一本书。这本书大概买了四年了，两年前在英国又买了一本，今天才因为困在疫区（明早小区封锁）看完。对我来说，Updike的感情可能太细腻太琐碎了，行文尽量克制，但用词又相当夸张，比如用得最多的表示感情的：frighten, afraid, shock, fear, startle, lopsided, irritated, annoy, repentance. 对于事物的描述经常在极度细致和轮廓之间游移：shadow, irises, silhouette, thick/thickness, squint. 但这是我渡过的第一本真正的全知视角的书，能以女性的口吻讲述，了不起。此外，拖尾式的比喻很像鹏总。what’s eating u?
