这一本比前面两本要好，没有那么理想化了，环境更加恶劣真实，时代感也更强。从一开始的梅溪搬家到后面的参与铁路修建再到最后面的宅地法案，一路过来都很现实。比较惊人的地方是书里竟然有详细的可以用的recipes。另外这本和farmer boys线开始出现交叉了。
