最近無論是讀書還是寫作都進展緩慢，希望能夠找時間評一下這部和Jas Elsner的Imperial Rome & the Christian Triumph，並談一談牛津這套叢書中幾部斷代史的寫法。

应该算是入门类里的精品了。篇幅不算太长，基本重要的方面都有覆盖而且语言极其通俗（熟悉Mary Beard文风的人应该能辨认出她写的部分）而且关键点都点到为止。我看的第一本牛津艺术史系列丛书。这个系列基本都是当代顶尖学者所著。Good start for me !
