帕特里克•罗斯福斯（Patrick Rothfuss）

作者系美国近年来最耀眼的史诗奇幻作家。他生于威斯康辛州，大学足足读了九年，先攻读化学工程专业后又转读心理学，最后才以英国文学学士毕业。“弑君者传奇”系列的雏形就在他广泛选修哲学、中世纪史、东方戏剧学、人类学、社会学等课程的过程中逐渐形成。

毕业后，“弑君者传奇”系列第一部《风之名》一出版，他就不负厚望地跻身美国最畅销的奇幻小说作家之列！美国著名出版人伊丽莎白•魏赫姆（Elizabeth Wollheim）盛赞：这是我在三十年的编辑生涯中看到过的最棒的处女作！他将成为和乔治•R.R.马丁、泰德•威廉姆斯并列的奇幻作家。

In "The Wise Man's Fear" Kvothe takes his first steps on the path of the hero and learns how difficult life can be when a man becomes a legend in his own time.
