帕特裏剋•羅斯福斯（Patrick Rothfuss）

作者係美國近年來最耀眼的史詩奇幻作傢。他生於威斯康辛州，大學足足讀瞭九年，先攻讀化學工程專業後又轉讀心理學，最後纔以英國文學學士畢業。“弑君者傳奇”係列的雛形就在他廣泛選修哲學、中世紀史、東方戲劇學、人類學、社會學等課程的過程中逐漸形成。

畢業後，“弑君者傳奇”係列第一部《風之名》一齣版，他就不負厚望地躋身美國最暢銷的奇幻小說作傢之列！美國著名齣版人伊麗莎白•魏赫姆（Elizabeth Wollheim）盛贊：這是我在三十年的編輯生涯中看到過的最棒的處女作！他將成為和喬治•R.R.馬丁、泰德•威廉姆斯並列的奇幻作傢。
