Hui people in China officially have been classified by their government as a nationality(minzu).By and large they still abide within the spiritual beam of light, the religion of Islam, that has been radiating from Arabia since the seventh century. They live at many places throughout China, and beyond -- from the Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang, to both sides of the Taiwan Strait, from the Changbai Mountains and Heilongjiang River to the southeastern hills on the Loess Plateau, to the Yungui tableland, to the Tibetan highlands, and to the grasslands of Inner Mongolia.
