作者简介
苏童，1963年1月出生于苏州市。1984年毕业于北京师范大学中文系，现为江苏省作家协会专业作家。1983年开始小说创作，出版有《苏童文集》等。主要作品有《1934年的逃亡》、《妻妾成群》、《我的帝王生涯》、《武则天》、《米》、《蛇为什么会飞》等。

书名很霸气，内容也不乏悲壮，实际上，故事中除了背景的雄阔，其他都很日常，一切似乎都中规中矩地演绎着一出错生帝王家的第五代燮王端白走向灭亡的没落悲剧。 避免流俗之处大概就在于全书天真烂漫的孩童视角，再加上开头就能猜到大致的结尾，所以亡国之君端白并不显得罪孽深重...
