Semiotics 課的第一本書。純講理論的部分有點 dry,但是例子還蠻有啓發性的。

评分一本好的導論在梳理齣理論脈絡的同時,總是留下深淺不一的腳印,引人去進一步思索和挖掘。而Chandler在書中反復強調的點也是我最感興趣的內容:我們生活在符號的世界中,隻能通過符號-錶徵認識和參與世界,而符號-係統從來都不是自然-透明的,符號學使我們不再想當然地將錶徵當作是現實的反映來接受,而是去追問它錶徵的是誰的現實,意識到誰在對現實的解釋中享有特權。去尋找在錶徵中,什麼被否定、隱藏和排除從而使得文本看似說齣瞭全部的真實。從我們被引導接受的常識中的含糊、不一緻、矛盾、遺漏、缺口和沉默中,找到潛在的社會變革的支點。
