Mary 真真令人同情，除小时候在法国的那几年，好像就没有过快乐时光。不幸生于帝王家却没有统治者的天分，大概也因为法国王室当年没有认真给她灌输统治教育，又不幸没有真心辅佐之人，一直孤苦无靠的感觉。25 岁前四处暗箭，25 岁后更是身陷囹吾，44 岁惨死…… 有意思的是关于 Lord Darnley 的谋杀，作者本人一直认为 Mary 是 guilty 的，可在写书过程中做了大量 research 后，完全改变了看法，结果大半本书是在为 Mary 辨别清白。
