新渡戶稻造（1862—1933）：日本的思想傢、教育學傢、國際政治活動傢、基督教信徒。早年畢業於劄幌農學校，曾先後赴美、德留學。迴國後在多所大學任教，1918年任東京女子大學第一任校長。《武士道》時期最為著名的一部著作，他本人也因此成為日本精神和倫理學的權威。1984年發行的日本銀行券5000日元上及印有其肖像。
