In this milestone volume mixing contemporary building projects with commentary and criticism, interviews, studios and student work, 306090 takes on one of the very last taboos of contemporary architecture: decoration. Daring to talk about a phenomenon that is all around us, but has been unspeakable throughout the 20th century; this volume of 306090 is as indispensable as previous titles addressing emerging trends in design, planning, landscape and education. Decoration contains a mix of work, "from every angle" of the ideological spectrum, and from a diverse group of contributors, including students, architects and professionals, as well as established minds in practice and pedagogy. Decoration includes contributions from Jesse Reiser, Kent Bloomer, Kengo Kuma, Nina Rappaport, and Meredith Warner.
Decoration is supported by a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, the School of Architecture at Princeton University, and annonymous donors.
