High up on a branch Mouse sits with a Mousegirl trying to impress her with his love and devotion. "My love," he tells her "has no barriers. Nothing can keep me away from you..." and so on. He describes one scenario after another in which he would surmount a great difficulty in order to be with her. Enthralled, she encourages him with her questions, "Then what?" and "What would you do?" and "Would you have the courage?" to imagine greater and greater difficulties and more and more daring and impressive feats.
