High up on a branch Mouse sits with a Mousegirl trying to impress her with his love and devotion. "My love," he tells her "has no barriers. Nothing can keep me away from you..." and so on. He describes one scenario after another in which he would surmount a great difficulty in order to be with her. Enthralled, she encourages him with her questions, "Then what?" and "What would you do?" and "Would you have the courage?" to imagine greater and greater difficulties and more and more daring and impressive feats.

誓言再壯烈，也比不過最後那一刻的行動。M對MG的愛，不惜用可能會犧牲自己的生命來證明。不是刻意證明，而是臨危時自動做齣的選擇。（我常常看著這世間，那麼多愛與恨，其實都是無意義的。如果M逃脫瞭，也可以理解，畢竟，多數人在此刻都會先選擇保住自己的命。隻是那樣的話，誓言不攻自破。）
