评分Tufekci现在也算是美国新媒体研究的红人了。书中有很多关于作为technological affordance的互联网社交平台的有趣观点,以及有关新媒体与社会运动动员/持续之间的关系的洞见。
评分行文太琐碎冗余,一半篇幅足以说明白观点。观点有些还行,既有洞见也有原创力,比如社媒的affordance, signal, 网络运动易于发动,但缺乏组织和缺乏领导使其在后期面临tactic-freezing, 难以调整,难以善始善终。网络运动追求leaderless, 但没有lead就难以形成实际的组织,而产生leader除了它们反对的代议制选举,其他途径都无法为领导赋予足够的合法性。这是网络运动产生与发展的内在矛盾。她还认为虚拟社会并不是真的虚拟,而是一种现实的扩大。此外,对于政府来说,除了传统的censorship, 还有假新闻、distraction(信息过载,混淆视听等)和对公民家人朋友的监控等。如果不是太啰嗦,章节区分度一般,该书会更好。
