评分这本读得比autumn要费脑子????看完之后觉得四季系列大概主题就是政治与艺术，载体是时间，当然少不了ali smith的各种文字游戏。（这点伍德在扭腰客那篇写得很好很清楚）但比起autumn来，总觉得这本在cohesion方面弱了一些，有一条线抽紧的时候，可autumn是让我觉得整个屋子里星星点点的灯光逐渐亮了起来。还有就是她的人物身上背负太多东西了（并非前史），似乎很难简单看待（如果抽掉一些象征感觉很多逻辑就更弱）。不过零零碎碎还是有好多喜欢的地方，比如她一写情就非常非常厉害，比如小朋友问Art, what is to-day?还有Sophia那个俄罗斯小狗的故事，最后的玫瑰花蕾……虽然有点郁闷，spring出了估计还是会追吧！
评分打五星，并不是因为粉丝滤镜，我觉得这本比Autumn写的还好。小说不单致敬了《圣诞颂歌》，Arthur的身世之谜明显也是狄更斯性质的，最后他有了两个母亲，两个父亲，这俨然是另一个版本的how to be both故事。这次ali smith最了不起的地方是她抬出来了伟大的英国(文学)传统来对抗现时的多事之"秋"，以《辛白林》里夹着的玫瑰印迹(又像火焰的焰影)这一意象作为结尾竟让人有惊心动魄之感。
评分像是于圣诞之际偶然齐聚的一家人（加一个陌生人） 的一场围炉夜谈 虽然大多数对话发生于他们追忆各自的往昔的其他圣诞节、冬至、夏日。叙述零散但渐入佳境 属于越读越心仪的那种。圣诞颂歌的变奏曲 社会虽渐渐溃败但人与人尚能和解 莎士比亚的诗意虽然只能从隐约的玫瑰花标本轮廓中寻获。比起当年看hotel world的崩溃这本书多么平和。
