When Lion Cub sets off to explore, she meets a number of African animals that the reader can discover by lifting the flaps on each page. Lion Cub tries to imitate the animals it meets, but doesn't succeed, and gets tired and frightened. She has to be rescued by Mother Lion who brings her safely home. The animals are beautifully drawn and the colors and features of the African landscape are captured well.
