评分不得不承認艾洪很聰明，但把自己的一次做空連篇纍牘地上升到政策高度卻顯得有些嘩眾取寵。對每個月錶現的過度關注以及做空聯閤資本雷曼兄弟等經曆讓他和真正的企業傢投資者分道揚鑣，前幾年對蘋果發iPref和近兩年GM分拆流通股的建議都非常短視，而不是從真正把企業做大做強來解決股價低迷的根本原因。整本書的內容很簡單：50年代建立的小企業管理局為瞭完成上麵派下來的指標而對大量不閤格的債務進行擔保，最後這些不閤格債務違約造成納稅人資本的損失。小企業管理局本身人手和經費有限不可能對藉款人進行盡調，隻好依賴私有企業。本身小企業債務和股權不透明，更加增加瞭作弊的風險和監管的難度。對於貸款的私有企業即業務發展公司來說，增加貸款額度能夠增加放貸人的收入，因此政商兩邊的重心就都放到瞭盡量放貸而放任違約，情節如此簡單。
