这是一本１９６７年就出版的个人回忆录，现在才被引进到国内，不过能看到已属幸事，以前只关心大人物的传记，谁会留意到小人物呢？相对于著名将帅写的回忆录，相对于战史学家写的作品，这部作品完全从士兵的角度出发，描述的是士兵眼中的残酷战争，完全是第２次世界大战苏德...  

终于可以看到描写关于战败国士兵的书了，不论是《挽救大兵》、《兵临城下》、《兄弟连》，写的都是胜利者。为什么敌人总是凶恶？他们也是人，也是响应自己国家的战争号召，作为一个公民为自己祖国服役。作为战败国，他们比任何人都值得同情。为英勇的士兵致敬。
