I have read this book twice in my teenage years, and it used to strike me as a narration of life with ups and downs of a black lady in a fluctuating time. Now I tend to focus more on how she feels, which is surprisingly relatable. I disagree with people saying there is something not good enough about this. It's her life. She didn't get to change it

其实36个故事足以大致概括任何一个人的人生，只要它够personal，够独特。而这本书就有36个故事让我走进Maya的青少年时期。其中她年少时的不幸和毕业典礼的感悟给我最大的震撼。

跟着主人公的人生走了一遭。结尾部分感觉不好。

Honest and telling

Over the last two weeks, I spent one hour or so every night reading Maya's story with laughters and tears. When it occurred to me that she had no choice but to experience "it" by Mr. Freeman, I almost cried out. Much to my comfort, reading helps the author get cured. It's also wonderful that we have read the same book, The Well of Loneliness.

读了好久的一本书，但是情节也都能录入脑海。首先记忆深刻的是改变作者的两个人，一位是鼓励她多读书的优雅有魅力的女士，一个就是一视同仁不歧视不偏见的老师。 另一个印象就是，圣经的力量。书中充满了浓浓的，给人力量和希望的宗教色彩，这一点我很感动，也很喜欢。 还有一...
