[美] 雷德•海斯蒂（Reid Hastie）毕业于加州大学圣迭戈分校和耶鲁大学，在哈佛大学开始其学术工作，积极寻求校外研究的机会，在医院和法庭中展开关于医疗和法律决策的研究。他的研究兴趣在于认知心理学的方法和理论在判断决策方面的应用。他终生致力于现实情境中的研究，包括医疗决策、法律决策、天气预报、消费者和商业金融决策等领域。

罗宾•道斯（Robyn M. Dawes）1958年获得哈佛大学哲学学士，后进入密歇根大学临床心理学系。两年后，他怀着对行为决策、社会互动和态度测量的兴趣进入了数学心理学系（1963 年获得博士），并在数学方面完成了研究生教育。1985年秋转到卡耐基梅隆大学，在社会和决策科学系担任心理学教授，他现在是Charles J. Queenan，Jr. 大学的教授。道斯发表过150 多篇论文、出版了6 部书籍。
