A famous presence in the hot rod movement of the 50' and one of the founding fathers of Kustom Kulture and pinstriping, Kenneth "Von Dutch" Howard spent over a decade away from the scene he created in self-imposed exile. Richard Koch visited Von Dutch in this period and captured the many facets of him on camera: goofy, cantankerous genius, machining handgun parts, working at the pinstriping that sealed his fame, clowning with one of Steve McQueen's cars, toiling in the converted bus that became his workshop on the guns and knives he became renowned for...all building up to illustrate a fascinating and little known chapter of hot rod history and bound to appeal to pinstripers and flame painters everywhere!
