觉得苦闷比愤恨多，前半部分都是苍老、疲惫，有反抗的声音从城市传来，稍后却总是重复在承认与投降；不光是在“承认”历史创伤，甚至到了种族与“科学定义”的地步；不过即使再无奈，也有愤懑。

诗人的怒吼局限于种族，但诗的怒吼延伸的范围远远超越于种族对立。对恐惧和麻木于受到种种非人虐待，奴役和压迫的人的唤醒更具有普遍性。龙应台三十多年前放了一把野火要你们扪心自问一下中国人你为什么不生气？如今生气的都是些什么人？小粉红，权贵，鹰犬……'the flunkies of order'在狰狞。

Aime Cesaire's masterpiece, Notebook of a Return to the Native Land, is a work of immense cultural significance and beauty.
