一開始看的時候還是很痛苦，一旦投入進去之後反而被它語言的質樸給吸引瞭，literature課上聯係瞭Jewish America來讀，覺得Father這個角色簡直amazing……居然沒有中譯本，可惜。

結構超簡單。葉姐當初是打算把它隨手編劇本的麼……和Pride and Prejudice對著看，這個猶太移民版之各種奇葩的嫁人不成，有那麼點黑色幽默的意思。以及對照猶太極端男權主義和伊斯蘭極端男權主義，何其相似乃爾。

課上談論到父親形象，大傢都不能理解他的宗教理念和自私，老師卻說批判一個人很容易，但當想到這個人自小生長在特定的文化環境下 被這樣的觀念熏陶至此，其“自私”可能也要被辯證看待瞭。 想到瞭巴金的《傢》，年輕一輩在傳統價值理念下的掙紮，但bread giver多瞭一層文化衝突 更顯性瞭。
