Golding's best-known novel is the story of a group of boys who, after a plane crash, set up a fragile community on a previously uninhabited island. As memories of home recede and the blood from frenzied pig-hunts arouses them, the boys' childish fear turns into something deeper and more primitive.

依然是因为文学课而读的
评分多年后终于读了标准中学生读物。Educational Edition的notes部分仿佛边读边浮现老师参照给的问题让学生回答。书末Fable还蛮好的。"I must say that anyone who moved through those years without understanding that man produces evil as a bee produces honey, must have been blind or wrong in the head" 然后说自己是个optimist……
评分代表真理的Simon丧命，代表智慧的Piggy的死亡，最终仅存的代表理性与秩序的Ralph奄奄一息，无力与代表原始与兽性的Jack抗衡。只有那滴着血的断猪头咧着嘴笑。 恶在恐惧中发芽，在人性中生长。根本便是civility与savagery的对抗。 人性很脆弱。
评分真的很好看。特别是最后代表理性的R被集体追杀那里。在理性快要被抹杀的瞬间，海滩上出现了来自文明世界的救援，R得救了的心情与J的如梦初醒都很值得细细体会。
