以后要是教英文系，一定会把这本书推荐给学生。作者很擅长用朴素平时的语言勾勒出人与人之间复杂微妙的情感。每个短片都有不同的叙事视角，每个细节都合情合理地安排在叙事结构中，不多不少，连贯一致。要搞英文创作，这是一本不错的范例。

GR 4.08 (28000) 作为一个印度控，很惭愧地，我认识的印度人大多都是印裔的ABC (似乎应该叫做ABI吧)，很少有道地的印度土著，这本小说写的就是印度ABC们在异乡的故事：一本印度版的“北京人在纽约”。虽说是短篇小说集，其实是个多角度的长篇，细节细腻构思巧妙，再加上我喜欢的悲剧结尾，Jhumpa Lahiri也算是印度小说的金字招牌了，非常推荐
