作者的语言读着费劲…很不适合我，概括了几个不适合的地方：作者絮絮叨叨，类似的意思反复表达好几遍；讲一件事的时候不知不觉就岔开了；超级长的句子超级长的段落让我看着就起急…可能就像那些画画的，如果就老老实实地画可能一辈子也出不了名，画的乱七八糟奇形怪状的可能就名垂千古了；这篇可能有着类似之处，好好说话表达观点拿不了奖，非得“特别”一些…相当不适合我，以后一定会避免选类似的看

一个充满暴力的世界。小说里的人物、地点都不具名，但无不隐射当今社会，或者说，1970年代北爱的问题，现在依然存在。 “我”一直在忍受他人强加给自己的伤害（不仅仅是性骚扰，还有各种舆论压力和误解），导致自我的压抑，小说所描写的更是一个充满暴力的社会，然而，这些“暴力”却并不是一开始就被认定或辨别为“暴力”。更在通过主人公对世界的观察、对自我的剖析中，厘清“暴力”是什么，提问我们应该怎么面对它。几乎是大长段，如果有耐心读完，大概会有惊喜吧……

需要有足够的耐心慢慢进入安娜•伯恩斯的世界，不仅仅是我与送奶员之间的关系，还有男权，女性，国家等叙事。读了第一章和第二章部分，感觉很好。

But when first brother-in-law, who of course had sniffed it out, told his wife, her first sister, to tell her mother to come and have a talk with her, middle sister becomes ‘interesting’. The last thing she ever wanted to be. To be interesting is to be noticed and to be noticed is dangerous…

客观说说，这本书大概不适合每个人，要么喜欢要么讨厌。首先，叙述口吻不是那么令人愉悦，冷漠甚至刻薄，书中没有一个人物有名字，都是代号，milkman, maybe-boyfriend, third brother-in-law, tablet girls, Somebody McSomebody, 每个人物形象都立体鲜明，也不需要什么名字...
