Agatha Christie was born in Torquay in 1890 and became, quite simply, the best-selling novelist in history. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, written towards the end of the First World War, introduced us to Hercule Poirot, who was to become the most popular detective in crime fiction since Sherlock Holmes. 很多人说这本书的谜底出乎意料、前面误导太多云云，我倒觉得这个案子出乎意料地好猜，了解阿婆套路或者推理小说看多了的人，在第一个伏笔出现时基本就该能锁定凶手了，明显到我一度以为真凶这条线才是个误导，以至于最后十页还在期待反转，不过可惜没有。 并不是说这本书不好看...
