Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now.
Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things.
Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.
Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

Reid的第一本書廣受好評而在我這裏隻有3顆星的時候我就該知道我對這位作者的寫作並沒有特殊的偏愛，但我其實在閱讀過程中還是挺感興趣的。而這一本更是幾乎滿天的五星好評書籍讓我實在好奇，還是關於我從未讀過樂隊成員的故事。可惜的是，我還是沒有特愛它。就故事本身和人物塑造，我更喜歡她的前一本書。但這本書的亮點是有一些充滿智慧的語句，關於愛與恨，關於捨與得。寫的很質樸卻也打動人。且我很喜歡某個情節的非常與眾不同的feminist的設置，讓人覺得眼前一亮。
评分真沒有覺得這本書能夠值這麼高的評價。感覺就是普通的樂隊成員之間的愛情故事。人物眾多，感覺太散瞭。Daisy說得好聽是率真，其實就是任性。

评分英文有聲書。DNF。這個假裝是節目采訪的寫作手法真是聽起來很煩。加上有聲書特意做成那種接受采訪的語氣，還加上明顯的情緒語氣真是太討厭瞭。
评分我實在太愛這本書瞭（有私心：我偏愛樂隊背後的故事）。它獨特在對同一件事每個人用不同地方式迴憶和敘述（並且在發現作者是J的時候會完全改變你之前的一些想法，每個人敘述的對象其實不是一個陌生人），幾乎完整地展示瞭relationships可以有多復雜。我對這個樂隊每個人都不是單純的喜歡或討厭（D其實是個很糟糕的人），每個人都有自己的特質，隻是B和D作為絕對的主角更讓人牽動。真的太希望這個樂隊是真實的瞭（書後有所有歌詞，就像那些歌真的存在一樣）。讀到最後“Tell your father I said at the very least, the two of them owe me a song”就像扳動瞭某個開關，說不清是遺憾D的離開、樂隊的解散，感動C的理解，還是期待D和B真的會再閤作一首歌。
