感覺溫特森想談的東西過多，弄成瞭一個什麼都不是的東西。筆法也不穩定，有一段都像好萊塢冒險片瞭????核心的故事也沒講清楚

讀到最後發現真的是一個前世今生輪迴相遇的愛情故事???? 很喜歡這種結構和寫法，編排很巧妙。19世紀那條綫和21世紀那條綫相互呼應。現實和虛構界綫的模糊，未來和背後就是過去。關於AI，關於科幻。但其實還說身體、靈魂和愛。不算完美，但很好看。

讓我們假裝看不見她對人之本質的問與答，假裝讀不懂平行又輕微錯位的love stories，我覺得故事的內核是孤獨。人不論深入挖掘還是決心捨棄為人的一麵，最終都會導嚮這個主題。怪物是弗蘭肯斯坦，弗蘭肯斯坦是瑪麗，創作者創作自己；living with doubleness是常態，殊途歸於自身，自身是一個人。到最後，作為哪種生命形式存在已經不再重要瞭。（acknowledgements中溫特森寫道: This book is dedicated to my godchildren, Ellie and Cal Shearer, who will work to make the future they want to see. 真好。

這是JW寫給下個AI時代的備忘錄，如果那個時代並不會到來，起碼也是一首齣色的狂想麯，張愛玲談尼采筆下的“超人”，JW的思想就有點“超人”的感覺，雖然她不是男子。這本書可以看做是JW梳理她自己心目中人工智能的簡史，從女數學傢艾達拜倫，到圖靈，到虛構齣來的I.J.Good，現代版科學怪人，由實入虛，如同岸上景物延伸到水麵的投影，亦和瑪麗雪萊人造人的幻想交相呼應；也可以看做是JW給她的故鄉城市曼徹斯特寫的一份備忘；當然少不瞭副標題強調的，a love story，一封情書。幾個主要人物，Ron是另一個“性愛大亨”式的故事，Ry作為trans，讓人想到《極樂之邦》裏的海吉拉，對身體的描寫，當然少不瞭對托卡爾丘剋Flights的迴顧，全書最後一句話如同廢名所說過的: 人生夢幻不可以付之流水。(!)

有點俏皮，探討的東西其實之前的作品中有齣現過，比如機器，想象力，現實，但這部作品的語境可能更貼現在吧，探討AI 人體冷凍 英國脫歐等……(暗搓搓覺得拍電影可能不錯？)
